Transfer printing is used primarily for shorter runs, and accomplishes better results than screen printing in some cases. These include printing on products of an unusual size or when the use of manmade fibres like polyester or nylon is preferred.
There are 2 types of transfer printing:-
- multi coloured screen printed transfers – produced by direct screen printing onto a carrier paper
- vinyl transfers – digitally produced, ideal for small runs where set-up charges would be prohibitive
Transfers are not only flexible; they open up many special effect finish options including reflective, fluorescent, glitter, foil and metallic.
Our transfer printing department uses the following equipment:-
- Roland Versa Camm VS-420 digital transfer printer for producing full colour digital transfers and vinyl cut transfers -
- Screen printed transfers are produced on flat bed vacuum print down tables and all transfers are applied using 4 transfer presses
