Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing
Direct to garment (DTG) printing is the newest form of digital printing. It’s a process that allows for full colour images to be printed directly onto garments such as a t-shirts in as little as 3 minutes and with no screen making or digitisation requirements or costs so smaller orders (up to £400) are really cost effective.
Direct to garment printing is ultra-high resolution, up to 1200dpi (dots per inch) for full colour saturation (photo quality designs), which are perfectly crisp and museum quality. You can be assured that the print will show exactly as you see on screen with no interpretation of the design, what you see on screen is what you get.
The direct to garment printer prints in CMYK, and where necessary (on coloured garments) we print a white base coat so that the colour shows crisp and true, then one pass for the design in CMYK. Our inks are certified and so are safe for childrens’ clothes. The print is long lasting and endures normal repeat washing at 40 °C.
Many of our clients had disregarded DTG printing, but after seeing the high quality print that the latest Screenworks printers can provide they have reconsidered. Direct- to garment printing has come a long way recently with huge improvements in the latest print and ink technologies so try a sample and see for yourself.
