About Screenworks Ltd the Promotional Clothing Specialists

“From tiny acorns…grow mighty oaks”

A saying that rings true when we look back at the humble beginnings of the printed and embroidered clothing giant that Screenworks has become.

When did it all begin?

Well, July 1991 to be precise! Set up by Andy Gilmour as a family run t-shirt printing and embroidery company after working within the trade for 30 years! Andy originally studied textile design at university which lead to his passion for all things textile. His knowledge and experience of custom clothing grew greatly as his career progressed which finally lead to the conception of Screenworks.

The following decade saw steady growth in the supply of printed and embroidered clothing and Screenworks increased its market share year on year.

Family recruit signs-up!

It was May 2000 when Andy’s son Duncan joined the t-shirt printing company after completing his degree in business and finance. Together this partnership soon saw its rewards with Duncan’s obsession for perfection becoming the driving force behind the production side and Andy’s talent on the sales side of the business, corporate and promotional clothing business was being won left right and centre.

After pin pointing their key target marketing as promotional clothing, in 2001 they established themselves as a trade t-shirt printer and embroidered clothing supplier and together geared themselves up to tear up this industry offering a unrivaled quality and service.

A move in the right direction

Just like Cinderella and her missing shoe, Screenworks’ move to its new building in 2004 this was the perfect fit, and would facilitate the massive growth that ensued over the forthcoming years.

From 6 employees in 2001 to nearly 30 in 2009 this growth was hard to keep up with but the demand for our services was increasing, this meant targets and records where being smashed month on month. With the production facility now running 4 state of the art semi-automatic print press’ and 30 computerised embroidery machine heads, Screenworks is now considered as one of the main players in the promotional clothing market. We are always looking to better these achievements and whilst we have direct contact with our customers via telephone or email we feel the blog is the quickest way to get news direct to our clients informing them of any improvements on service
