Want to boost t-shirt printing sales?

Promotional T-shirts, let the numbers do the talking!

The king is back! Well actually he has never left. Printed tees have had a turbulent couple of years and there are some heirs to the thrown that have been sniffing around and it is time to reinforce the t-shirts rightful place as out and out ruler.

When a business is choosing a way of promoting itself to existing and potential new customers, marketers like to base their decisions on facts and figures. There are many options of media types to choose from but regardless of which you look at customers will all be thinking the same question “Have you got any solid factual evidence that buying your printwear will deliver my marketing message?”

Up until recently any truthful sales person would have to have said no. This was until two years ago when the Advertising Specialities Institute (ASI) carried out some research on a broad spectrum of printwear users to see if they could answer the question and offer some facts for sales staff to arm themselves with when pitching their products. There were 678 people who participated in the survey and the results were extremely interesting!

First, they looked at the number of times that the t-shirts were worn, the t-shirt scored 4.3 per month. Second, participants were asked how many people they came into contact with whilst wearing the item of promotional clothing, the t-shirt came in at 84 (this figure was for each time it was worn). If we then put these two together you get the total number of ‘impressions’ – what we would call ‘opportunities to see’ (OTS), making the average OTS for a t-shirt 365, which totally outperformed other promotional items such as pens and calendars.

These are merely monthly figures and as we all know t-shirts do not simply get thrown away at the end of each month, the average time that was recorded for the life cycle of the product was seven months. So, looking at that seven month period one simple little t-shirt as the ability to pass the marketing message of any UK company on to 2555 people – now I don’t think that is bad for a couple of quid!

This information is invaluable and should be used by all sales staff when pushing what is undoubtedly one of the most cost effective marketing media available.

As we come to the end of spring and enter the summer session we can start puting away the winter jumpers and start wearing our summer t-shirts. Red Nose Day 2011 T-Shirt Printing

Last Friday was Red Nose Day and Screenworks Ltd had a day of events including fancy dress, tombola, Lunch time games and homemade cakes in the aid of Red Nose Day. The day went ever so well with everyone wearing there own T-Shirts or Pyjamas, it was like having a none school uniform day. With us all eating cakes or just looking stupid for the day, we are very proud of our selves raising money for comic relief in total we raised £152.33. Special Effects Screen Printing

When you think of screen printing t-shirts the first thing comes to mind is spot colours, CMYK or full simulated process, well these aren’t the only techniques that can be used when screen printing. Screenworks Ltd have been slowly introducing some very impressive special effects. There so many to choose from so we have compared a short list of the most commonly used. The most popular is metallic which is plastisol ink but mixed with flicks of metallic, which when viewed in the right lighting conditions gives of a glittering shimmer. Glitter is very popular in the fashion industry or for a bespoke t-shirt, there is also a technique called foil printing, this is very similar but applied via transfer printing a silver or gold foil onto an adhesive applied to the t-shirt. There are many more that we offer but I wanted to introduce readers to these techniques and each month I will be explaining about these in more detail. New Approved Dryers for 2011

Screenworks Ltd has been working very hard during 2009-2010 improving on the productivity of our T-Shirt Printing facility based in Haverhill, Suffolk. Now 2011 is upon us we wanted to expand this even further with the introduction of a new environmentally friendly drying system called ‘Clean Burn’. The photograph below shows the owner of Sanco Technology who manufactures this product with the gentleman on the right John Jackson who’s the distributor. Over the Christmas period Screenworks Ltd have been installing the exiting new dryer, all has been completed ready for production which started on the 04/01/2011. The dryer has many features including a run of 2000 clothing items per hour which was the main reason for the purchase but also reducing our emissions as part of the aim to be known as a greener printer. We have great support from both Sanco Technology and CPN and would highly recommend their services and products if you are looking at purchasing a new dryer.
